Concrete Speaker 01

An object to live with. A reason to listen.

A study in material, geometry, and sound. Concrete Speaker 01 brings acoustic engineering into an object with a deliberate physical presence.

Material becomes structure.

The enclosure is part of the instrument. Concrete offers mass and rigidity, while its cast surface makes the process of making visible.

The project brings digital modelling together with mould making and casting. Form, internal volume, driver placement, and the practicalities of manufacture are developed together.

From model to listening.

Prototyping continues beyond the enclosure: crossover design, acoustic measurement, and listening all shape the finished object.

The build log documents the development of the concrete monitors, including the hybrid casting process, driver selection, and crossover experiments.
